KazGPP LLP has been operating its gas processing plant since 1973, and it now faces a significant risk of complete shutdown due to the high degree of wear (over 90%) and prolonged operation of the plant’s process equipment. This deterioration could lead to a total halt in oil and gas production at the facilities that supply gas for processing. Such a shutdown would also cause a shortage of commercial (dry) gas and LPG (liquefied petroleum gas), which are critical for both residential and industrial needs.

To address this pressing issue, the construction of a new gas processing plant is planned to replace the aging infrastructure. This new facility will ensure the continuous supply of industrial and socially important gas products to the population and industrial enterprises of the Mangistau region, safeguarding energy stability and supporting local economic growth. Led by RP GAZ LLP, the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to maintaining reliable gas supplies while modernizing infrastructure to meet future demands.

The primary objectives of the new gas processing plant (GPP) project include:

Ensuring industrial and environmental safety, and compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations to minimize risks and maintain a safe operational environment.
Ensuring the stable operation of oil-producing assets in the Mangistau region by effectively utilizing the associated petroleum gas and natural gas produced by local oil fields.
Achieving high efficiency and profitability in the plant’s long-term operation, contributing to both regional economic stability and energy security.

The new GPP is designed to produce dry commercial gas, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and pentane-hexane fraction, ensuring a reliable supply of essential gas products for both industrial and residential use.

The raw materials for the new GPP will be supplied by major oil companies in the region, including Ozenmunaigas JSC, Mangistaumunaigas JSC, Tenge Oil & Gas LLP, and Tasbulat Oil Corporation LLP. This collaboration ensures that the plant will have a stable and continuous flow of resources, supporting the region’s energy needs and furthering the goal of efficient gas utilization in the Mangistau region.
